Privacy policy
Last updated: 1 September 2026. This policy covers the information NIET collects through niet.org.in and what we do with it.
The National Institute of Education & Trainings (“NIET”, “we”) operates this website. We collect only what we need to answer an enquiry, register a participant, issue a certificate and meet our statutory obligations.
What we collect
- Information you give us. Name, designation, school or institution, city, email address and phone number submitted through an enquiry, registration or in-school training request, together with anything you write in a message field.
- Participant records. For enrolled participants: cohort, attendance, assessment submissions and outcome, and the certificate identifier issued on completion.
- Payment information. Fees are collected through a licensed payment gateway. NIET does not see, receive or store your card number, UPI PIN or netbanking credentials. We retain the transaction reference, the amount and the invoice.
- Technical information. Standard server logs — IP address, browser type, pages requested and timestamps — retained for security and diagnostics.
How we use it
- To answer your enquiry and send programme information you asked for
- To register you for a cohort, invoice your school and issue receipts
- To administer assessment, issue certificates and maintain the certificate register
- To give participants access to session recordings and materials
- To meet accounting, tax and statutory record-keeping requirements
We do not sell personal information, and we do not share it with third parties for their own marketing.
The public certificate register
Certificate verification is a public lookup by certificate ID. A successful lookup discloses the holder’s name, the programme completed, the cohort and the date of issue. It does not disclose contact details, marks or any other personal information. If you hold a NIET certificate and do not want your record to resolve publicly, write to the registrar and we will remove it from public lookup while retaining it internally.
Who else processes your data
We use service providers to run the website, send email, take payments and host the learning portal. They process data on our instructions only, and are bound to keep it confidential. Payments are processed by our payment gateway under its own privacy terms.
How long we keep it
Enquiries that do not lead to enrolment are deleted within 24 months. Participant and certification records are retained permanently, because the value of a certificate depends on the register still existing years later. Financial records are retained for the period required by Indian tax law.
Your choices
You can ask us for a copy of the information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it where we are not required to retain it. Write to info@niet.org.in and we will respond within 30 days. You can unsubscribe from programme mailings using the link in any such email.
Security
The site is served over HTTPS. Access to participant records is limited to staff who need it. No system is perfectly secure; if a breach affects your data we will tell you and the relevant authority promptly.
Children
NIET programmes are for adult professionals. We do not knowingly collect information from children through this website.
